No. The Corps notes there are no lifeguards on duty at its public beaches, including Galt's Ferry and Sweetwater. Keep kids within reach, put weak swimmers in a life jacket, and stay inside any marked swim area.

How much does it cost to swim at Lake Allatoona?

Most Corps day-use areas charge a $5 per vehicle use fee. If you go often, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Annual Day-Use Pass costs $40 (as of September 2026, per the Corps boating page), so it pays for itself after eight visits. Red Top Mountain requires a Georgia State Parks ParkPass instead.
