The best gifts for someone who loves Weiss Lake either bring the lake home or get them back on the water: a Weiss Lake Life hoodie or trucker hat with the outline of the lake, a ceramic ornament for the tree, or a real Weiss Lake experience like a guided crappie trip, a weekend at Bay Springs Country Inn, or an annual pass to Cherokee Rock Village.

Weiss Lake is an Alabama Power reservoir on the Coosa River in Cherokee County, Alabama, reaching up to the Georgia line. It covers 30,200 acres with 447 miles of shoreline and runs 52 miles long, and Weiss Dam went into service in 1961 (Alabama Power). For years it's been known as "The Crappie Capital of the World" (Cherokee County Chamber). Below are 16 gift ideas for the people who love it, grouped by who you're shopping for. Every product links to its own page, and every local business has a website and a Google Maps link where one exists.

Local Weiss Lake experience gifts

Experience gifts are perfect for people who already have everything. Every option below was checked on the business's or agency's own website in October 2026. Alabama Power draws Weiss down in late fall and winter, so boat gifts are best for spring, but crappie season keeps going into December.

10. A guided crappie trip

Weiss Lake Crappie Guides is run by guide Darrell Baker out of Centre. Trips are $400 for 4 hours or $450 for 6 hours for 1 to 2 people, plus $100 for each extra person (as of October 2026), with the boat, life jackets, gas, tackle, and artificial bait included. There's no gift certificate, so the gift is a reserved date: a $100 deposit holds each date, and deposits can move to another agreed date (but are forfeited if the client cancels within 14 days). Darrell says January through April is a great time for crappie, and the fall season runs from late September into December.
